Recently, I got back in touch with the super-busy and totally amazing Laura Gamse of Daydream Reels. If you don't know her, she's a documentary filmmaker exploring the lives of the artists unknown. Ages ago, I did some work hosting local screenings of The Creators Documentary, an inspiring film about South African artists from all walks of life. Apart from revealing the challenges they all faced, it's an honest account of how so many SA artists are interpreting their past in order to shape their futures.
Her current project, Brigidy Bram is set in the Bahamas and follows the life of painter and sculptor Kendall Hanna. Trust me, he is no ordinary man. I won't attempt to share the unconventional life he has lead (mostly because words cannot describe, but also because I haven't yet seen the film).
Anyway. We got back in touch and I've contributed a few humbly animated seconds to her work, which is really exciting, I can't even tell you. I just wanna see my name in credits. That is all.
